Barkas is all set to be developed into a model ward. Lined up are an e-library for residents, a community hall, a recreation centre for senior citizens and even a helpline for women and youth. The development of the ward will taken up as part of a Rs 70 crore World Bank-sponsored project planned by Administrative Staff College of India.
As per the plan, one ward will be taken up on a pilot basis where every aspect of development is taken into account. The project is expected to take four to five years for completion. Mansoor Bin Md Awalgi, corporator, showed the ward development plan to residents of Indira Nagar in Barkas during his visit to the area on Wednesday. TOI
