Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): The State BC Welfare Association vice-president, Mr Chaluvadi Vijayananda Rao, has expressed his happiness over the State government releasing Rs 108.19 crores towards the waiver of loans of handloom workers in the State.
In a pressnote here today, Mr Rao stated that the decision taken by the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, to come to the rescue of distressed handloom workers deserves appreciation.
The Rs 108.19 crores released towards the waiver of loans of the handloom workers would immensely benefit some 1.5 lakh handloom families and about 450 primary handloom co-operative societies that got “artigens” under the schemes like the “Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana” and “Rajiv Yuva Shakthi” and the workers who had borrowed from banks, added Mr Rao. Besides, he also expressed his gratitude to the Minister for Small Scale Industries, Dr P. Shankar Rao. (NSS)
