Hyderabad, Feb.18 (NSS): The Government Chief Whip, Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, on Friday moved a privilege notice over the unruly actions that took place within and outside the State Assembly during the Governor’s address to the joint session of both Houses on the opening day of the budget session on Thursday.
Even as the TDP and TRS members were protesting near the Speaker’s podium on the fee reimbursement issue and Telangana affair, Mr Vikramarka drew the attention of the Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, about his privilege notice.
Expressing grave concern and anguish over the violent incidents within the House wherein even the Governor of the State was not spared, the Chief Whip said that the TRS and TDP members had acted with utter disregard to decency and decorum of the House. Referring to the attack on the Lok Satta Party Chief, Mr Jayaprakash Narayan, and the Congress MLC, Mr Paladugu Venkat Rao, he said that such acts deserved stern action and condemnation. He wanted to know as to when the privilege notice would be taken up in the House.
The Deputy Speaker said that he was in receipt of the privilege notice and would give his ruling on it soon. (NSS)
