Hyderabad: Alleging that the BJP, which came to power at the Centre in the past with “one vote-two states” resolution passed at Kakinada, the Telangana Congress MPs have accused the BJP-led NDA government of deceiving the people of Telangana by failing to create separate State though it was in power for two terms. They opined that it was not proper for the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Ms Sushma Swaraj, to criticize the AICC Chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi, in Karimnagar on Tuesday regarding Telangana issue. They said that they set June month-end as deadline to the Centre and decided to launch direct Telangana movement in July.
Speaking to the media at the Bhongir MP, Mr K Rajgopal Reddy’s residence after Telangana MPs’ meeting on Wednesday, the Karimnagar MP, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, said that the 125 year-old Congress party was not in a position to learn from the BJP. Ms Sushma Swaraj made false allegations against Ms Sonia Gandhi and Congress Party, he said, adding that the Seemandhra Congress leaders have to lend support to Telangana to deflate Ms Sushma Swaraj’s criticism against the Congress party on Telangana issue. He said that the Seemandhra leaders have to extend their support to the Centre to keep its word on Telangana. He also urged the Seemandhra leaders to understand the conspiracy of the BJP. He asked the Seemandhra leaders to extend support to Telangana in order to protect the Congress party in both the regions. He exuded confidence that the Congress party would improve its image by conceding Telangana demand.
Mr Rajagopal Reddy said that they were continuing in positions only to achieve separate State. He said that the MPs were ready to sacrifice anything for sake of separate State. Making it clear that there were no differences among the Telangana Congress leaders, he said there was no compromise on Telangana State.
The Peddapally MP, Dr Vivek, said that they have prepared a special flag for launching Telangana movement.
