Hyderabad: The senior BJP leader, Mr Bandaru Dattatreya, on Sunday demanded that the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, immediately sack the warring ministers, Mr Jupalli Krishna Rao and Ms D K Aruna, for acting against the interests of Constitution causing law and order problem. Both the ministers of Mahbubnagar district should tender resignations owning moral responsibility as they had taken oath to uphold Constitution and behave accordingly.

Speaking to the media at State BJP office here on Sunday, the former Union Minister demanded that the Governor, Mr E S L Narasimhan, dismiss the erring ministers from the Cabinet if the Chief Minister failed to do so.

Pointing out that the Karnataka Governor had recommended to the Centre to impose President’s rule on the charge that the Karnataka faced political crisis, Mr Dattatreya wondered whether the Andhra Pradesh Governor was working as per the Constitution. He faulted Mr Narasimhan for not recommending dismissal of the Congress government though the State was facing the worse political crisis. He alleged that the Governors’ behavior in both Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh revealed that both were working as puppets in the hands of the Centre. He said that it was not proper for the Governors to act differently in the Congress-ruled States and non-Congress ruled States.

Mr Dattatreya alleged that the dispute between the two ministers was due to the inefficiency of the Chief Minister. He also said that it was not proper for the Chief Minister to say that the dispute between the two ministers was their personal. Asking the ministers whether they were ministers for Gadwal and Kollapur or for the entire State, Mr Dattatreya said that the PCC Chief, Mr D Srinivas, too failed to solve the dispute between the ministers. Alleging that there was no co-ordination between the Congress party and the government, he felt that the Congress party was bringing disrepute to the Telugu pride.

The former Union Minister said that the silence of the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, towards the problems of farmers clearly showed that the Centre does not take the Chief Minister seriously though he apprised the Prime Minister of the plight of the farmers. He also alleged that the Chief Minister has become a puppet in the hands of his party high command.

Alleging that the State government has totally failed in addressing the grievances of the farmers, he said that the Chief Minister has no idea about farming community. He also said that the State government need not wait for the Centre’s help regarding hike of Rs 200 in the MSP for paddy and demanded that the State government give Rs 200 instead of waiting for the Centre’s approval.
