Hyderabad: Finding fault with the TDP Chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu’s attitude in the Assembly, the BJP State president and Party’s Assembly floor leader Mr G Kishen Reddy has demanded the former to give an explanation to the people of Telangana region on allowing the Seemandhra MLAs to display Samaikyandhra placards in the House, sending Telangana MLAs out. He also urged all the political parties to stick to their earlier assurance on Telangana issue.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Friday, Mr Kishen Reddy said that nothing will happen if the State was bifurcated in to two. He said that the Telangana and Seemandhra States would develop like Punjab, Gujarat, etc., if the State was divided. Demanding the Centre to take a decision on bifurcation of the State, Mr Kishen Reddy opined that it was high time to create the separate Telangana because four crore people of the region were demanding for it unanimously.
He stated that it was not proper to the Congress party high command to escape from the Telangana issue saying that it was not possible for them to solve the issue as the late leaders Ms Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao themselves failed to solve it.
Dubbing the Congress attitude on Telangana issue as opportunistic, Mr Kishen Reddy asked the Congress party as to why it contested the 2004 elections joining hands with the TRS Party, giving an assurance on Telangana. He alleged that the Congress was talking irresponsibly on Telangana issue though it had announced it on December 9, 2009. He demanded the Congress party State leaders to mount pressure on the high command to cooperate with the BJP when its MP Mr Rajiv Prathap Rudi moves a motion on Telagnana in the Rajya Sabha. (NSS)
