Hyderabad: The State BJP official spokes person, Mr N V V S Prabhakar, has warned the State government that their party will not tolerate if the government scraps the EPC system. He alleged that the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, was trying to earn illegal money by scrapping the EPC system. He also demanded that the State government order CBI inquiry into the scam in Navarathnalu (Nine Companies).
Speaking to the media at State BJP office here on Tuesday, Mr Prabhakar said late Dr YSR government had introduced the EPC system in Jalayagnam aiming to complete 86 irrigation projects worth of Rs 120,000 crores. The then government wasted public money in the name of Jalayagnam and now Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to scrap the EPC system to earn illegal money stating that the government was interested to complete the important projects.
Alleging that the State government has not even completed a single project though it spent more than Rs 60,000 crores, Mr Prabhakar said the government had not spent the budget allotted to the projects for the last two-years.
He alleged that the people of the State would experience the scam worth more than 2G Spectrum scam if the State government cancels the EPC system. He demanded the government to order CBI inquiry into the Navarathnalu (Nine Companies, which were taken up Jalayagnam projects in the State) scam immediately. He urged the State High Court to accept his allegations as suo moto and order an inquiry into it.
