Botcha did not ask me to withdraw resignation: Vishnuvardhan

Hyderabad: The Congress MLA from Jubilee Hills, Mr P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, here on Tuesday said the PCC president, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana, did not ask him to withdraw his resignation. Mr Reddy met the PCC chief in Gandhi Bhavan this afternoon.

Speaking to mediapersons after his meeting with the PCC chief, Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy said the former was talking to all the legislators personally over their resignations submitted for the cause of Telangana recently. He said he met Mr Botcha following a call from him.

Mr Reddy said there was no question of agreeing for anything other than separate Telangana State. He also claimed that the Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad were not opposing separate State. He also assured full security and welfare of the settlers.

It may be mentioned here that when the Telangana Congress legislators had decided to submit resignations to exert pressure on the Congress high command to carve out separate Telangana State, Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy was the first Telangana MLA to come to the Assembly and submit his resignation. He was also the first legislator from Hyderabad to resign from the Assembly for Telangana cause.
