Botcha Jhansi defends repeal of 14 F clause

Hyderabad: The Vizianagaram MP, Ms Botcha Jhansi, on Saturday maintained that the 14(f) of 1975 Presidential Order was repealed in the larger interests of the State.

Speaking to the media here, Ms Jhansi said the people of Telangana region have been agitating for deletion of controversial 14(f) clause for years. Keeping the interests of all regions, the Centre has deleted the controversial clause. It would not cause any loss to the people of any region, she felt.

The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Ms Purandeshwari, said it was unfortunate that agitations and protests were erupting in the Seemandhra region over deletion of controversial 14(F) clause. All must accept the decision of the Centre in the matter, she said and pointed out that the Centre has taken this decision on the request of the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
