Hyderabad: Hailing the appointment of V Kishore Chandra Deo as Union Minister for Tribal Affairs and Panchayati Raj, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for choosing an MP from the state for the prestigious post.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Satyanarayana also extended his congratulations to Mr Deo for finding a place in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
He said that both the Prime Minister and Ms Sonia Gandhi have acted judiciously and have given proper representation to the state in the Union Cabinet.
The PCC chief felt that the state has not suffered any injustice in the Cabinet reshuffle but adequate representation has been given to the Andhra Pradesh in the expansion.
Responding on the High Court ordering the Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged amassing of huge properties by YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy by misusing his relation with former chief minister and his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr Satyanarayana said that the Court has gave chance to the Kadapa MP to prove his innocence.
Stating that the law would take its own course, Mr Satyanarayana said if Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has not misused his position, he would be judged accordingly. “Only the guilty would be punished,” the PCC chief said.(INN)
