Hyderabad: The Congress Action Committee for Telangana (CACFT) has urged the State Government not to appeal against the High Court order on Justice Srikrishna Committee’s eighth chapter. The CACFT has also said that it will think on how to take legal action on Justice Srikrishna Committee members for preparing pre-conceived report on Telangana.
Addressing the media after a two hours meeting at Exhibition Grounds here today, the senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Dr K Keshava Rao said that Justice Srikrishna has to think over the report prepared depending upon a member who was influenced by the vested interests. He also asked Mr Srikrishna whether he takes the moral responsibility for the report submitted to the Central government.
Making it clear that the CACFT would fight till separate Telangana was achieved, Dr Keshava Rao dubbed the statement of the Chief Minister at Chittoor that Chittoor is more backward than Telangana, as unfortunate and said that he would talk to the Chief Minister on this issue. He asserted that separate Telangana movement was not for development but for the self-respect, self-identity and self rule of the people of the region. He said that the movement had started in 1810 against bringing North-Indians to Hyderabad State, and the movement was not new.
Urging the Endowments Minister Mr Jupally Krishna Rao to withdraw his resignation, he said that the movement would be intensified after two months. He revealed that the senior leaders Mr Pranab Mukharjee and Mr Gulam Nabi Azad have requested the Telangana Congress MPs to wait till the Assembly elections in five states were over and hence they were maintaining restraint even though they were facing severe criticism.
He said that they were setting up a Committee with the MPs, MLAs and MLCs to co-ordinate the leaders. The CACFT would tour the districts soon preparing a program; he added and requested the Telangana leaders from all political parties not to indulge in criticism against each other. He also said that all the organizations were asking for coordination to launch a united fight to achieve Telangana and assured them to do the same.
Finding fault with the Deputy Speaker for not taking action against the Agriculture Minister Mr YS Vivekananda Reddy for slapping the Telugu Desam MLAs in the House, Dr Keshava Rao alleged that it was not correct on the part of the Deputy Speaker, who taken action against one Mr Mallesh for beating Lok Satta MLA Dr Jayaprakash Narayan though he tendered apologies for his action, for leaving the minister without any action.
MLC Mr K Yadava Reddy said that CACFT would extend full support to the Telangana Journalists Forum, which is going to conduct a seminar in Delhi on Srikrishna Committee’s eighth chapter, like any other political party.
Making it clear that the CACFT would fight legally against the Justice Srikrishna Committee for preparing objectionable eighth chapter, MLC and senior leader Mr KR Amos said that the Committee resorted to anti-national activity by preparing it. He lamented that the Police department hatched a conspiracy to destroy the future of the entire generation by foisting various cases against the students in Telangana region. (NSS)
