Cash Incentives For 20-PT Programe Implementation

Hyderabad, Feb.9 (NSS): The Chairman of 20 Point Programme, Dr N Tulasi Reddy on Wednesday announced a rolling shield and Rs one crore incentive grant to the district, and a rolling shield and Rs 5 lakh incentive to the mandal, which stood first in implementation of 20 Point Programme.

Dr Tulasi Reddy held a state level review meeting with the secretaries and heads of 16 departments concerned in the Secretariat here.

Speaking to the media after the review meeting, Dr Tulasi Reddy stated that it was aimed at placing the State in the first place at national level in implementation of 20 Point Programme in this year. Reminding that only 50 days remained in this financial year, he said that the 16 departments concerned have been directed to achieve their targets 100 percent that would facilitate the State to stand in first rank in implementation of the programme.

He stated that ranks would be given to the state based on 16 parameters in implementation of the programme. Out of 16 parameters, the state has achieved targets of 90 percent in 10 parameters and below 90 per cent targets in six parameters. The targets achieved below 90 percent were Indira Awas Yojana, urban housing, Rural Water Supply, Anganwadi Centres and PMGSY.

Dr Tulasi Reddy informed that the departments which were weak in implementation of programme, have been directed to mandatory achieve the targets sets to them. Such departments should hold review meeting every week and do district wise monitoring.

“It was also decided to take up awareness campaign on 20 Point Programme. Essay writing competitions and debates would be held on the days of birth and death anniversary of Indira Gandhi and June 1 (the days of launching of the programme) for the purpose”, he informed.

To encourage the Districts to achieve the targets in 20 Points Programme, it was decided to extend incentive of Rs 1 core and rolling shield to the district which stood in first place. Similarly, the mandal which stood in first place, would awarded rolling shield and Rs 5 lakh incentive, he added. (NSS)
