New Delhi: Unfazed by the mass resignations of Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs and even ministers, the Congress High Command has made it clear to the agitated Telangana leaders that statehood would not be possible until it finished the dialogue process with all concerned, including the Seemandhra leaders.
The AICC general secretary in-charge of AP Affairs, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, called the Panchayat Raj Minister, Mr K. Jana Reddy, and others and held discussions with them for over an hour here on Tuesday morning. He told the Telangana Congress leaders, including MPs, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar and Mr Madhu Yashki Goud. He told them that no hasty decision could be taken on Telangana. The Telangana Congress leaders, who were stating that they would not attend any meetings and discussions until the government agrees to implement the December 9 announcement, appear to be satisfied with what Mr Azad told them.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Mr Jana Reddy said the delegation had informed the Central leader about the situation in the State and the aspirations of the Telangana people. He said that Mr Azad has assured them that the Centre was already seized of the problem and would make every effort to solve it. He said Mr Azad has asked them to meet him again in two or three days. He said they would sit together and decide when to meet him again.
