Hyderabad: Telugu Desam politburo member Erram Naidu on Friday stated that it was very difficult task to get unanimity on the formation of Telangana state as the aspirations of the people from one region to another are different.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, he alleged that the Centre linked the unanimity issue in order to delay the Telangana state formation.
He asked Chidambaram to make his stand clear on Telangana state issue and put an end to uncertainty in the state.
By linking the T state issue with unanimous opinion among parties, the Centre is complicating the problem further instead of resolving it, he alleged.
Alleging that the Centre is playing dramas in order to buy time, he said that Union Home minister P Chidambaram is targeting the Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu to weaken him in the state.
Another senior leader of the party P Chandrasekhar hailed the Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj for launching hot discussion on the Telangana in the Lok Sabha.
When the reporters asked why Chandrababu Naidu raised objection for the T state during National Democratic Alliance government, he denied the allegation terming it as baseless and said that the party never raised objection for the formation of Telangana state.
However, he clarified that NDA did not promise to give Telangana state.(INN)
