Hyderabad: The TDP Chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu has demanded the Central government to award ‘Bharata Ratna’ to late Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, founder of TDP and former Chief Minister. .
Speaking on the second day of ‘Mahanadu’ here on Saturday, on the occasion of late NTR’s 88th birth anniversary, Mr Naidu has said that late NTR always concentrated on farmers issues and their welfare, but now the farmers were facing difficulties due to the Congress government’s negligent attitude. He said that the TDP has the responsibility of extending a helping hand to the farmers. He stated that the credit for creating reservations to women folk went to late NTR who fought for the uplift of the backward classes.
Lamenting that the Congress government didn’t name the Shamshabad International Air Port after NTR though the TDP demanded it, he said that the TDP will fight against the government to concede the same demand. The late NTR has put efforts to enhance the pride of Telugu people, he said and added that the TDP will follow the foot steps of NTR. He also stated that the TDP will try for installation of NTR statue in Parliament premises. (NSS)
