Hyderabad: The TDP chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has lamented that the farm sector was in a pitiable condition though the country was rapidly progressing.
Addressing seventh National Farmers’ conference of CIFA here on Sunday, Mr Naidu said that NREGP should be linked to the farm sector to extricate agriculture from the present crisis.
Speaking on the occasion, the national BJP senior leader, Mr M. Venkaiah Naidu, has said that 43 per cent of farmers were inclined to leave agriculture as it was no longer a remunerative proposition. He has suggested that Parliament special session should be conducted to exclusively discuss farmers’ problems.
The Lok Satta Party chief, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, has said farmers could solve their problems only through a united fight. (NSS)
