Hyderabad: The suspended TDP leader, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, has alleged that the party supreme, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has a secret agenda and was actually ditching the Telangana movement.
In an interview to a private TV channel on Thursday, Dr Nagam termed Mr Naidu as anti-Telangana and charged him with indirectly supporting the Seemandhra movement for united State. He also alleged that Mr Naidu was inciting some TDP leaders against him just because he came out openly and fighting for separate Telangana. He sarcastically quipped that Mr Chandrababu has lost his Telangana eye.
WILLING TO WORK WITH JAGAN
The former minister, who raised a bogey or revolt against the TDP supremo has announced that he was ready to work with the YSR Congress chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, if only he announced his support to Telangana. He said that there was the possibility of some more TDP leaders coming out of the ‘stranglehold’ of Mr Naidu. He also expressed doubts that even the TDP politburo members had their own doubts about the two-eyed theory of Mr Naidu. He has revealed that his former colleague, Mr Yerrabelli Dayakara Rao, had even touched the feet of Mr Naidu and urged him to disclose his stand on Telangana.
Stating that he wanted to resign to his MLA post, Dr Nagam said that he would abide by the opinion of the people in this regard. He also sarcastically said that his MLA position was given by the people and not Mr Chandrababu Naidu.
Dr Nagam said that the TDP cadre was leaving the party in Telangana, because of the ambiguity of its stand on separate State issue. Claiming that he was not corrupt, he reminded that he fought an uncompromising war on the Obulapuram mines issue. He said that some TDP leaders were in contact with him.
When asked if he would be launching his own party, Dr Nagam has not given a clear answer. He said that all the TDP leaders should come out and state their stand on Telangana.
Dr Nagam has denied Mr Naidu’s charge that he had taken a unilateral decision on Telangana. Stating that there was no strength in the argument of Mr Chandrababu Naidu, he said that no one would believe his words. He has reminded that the Union government had announced that it would disclose its stand on Telangana, only after discussing the matter in an all-party meeting.
Alleging that the present state of chaos on Telangana was totally the creation of Mr Naidu, the estranged leader said that Mr Naidu has lost his Telangana eye and has only the Seemandhra eye now. (NSS)
