Hyderabad: The TDP Chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has expressed shock over the death of ten persons in an accident in Guntur district, when a tractor in which they were traveling plunged into the Nagarjuna Sagar canal.
In a statement here on Monday, Mr Naidu stated that it was sad that the poor daily wage earners met with cruel fate while they were on their way to earn their livelihood.
Stating that all the deceased from the Sundaraiah Colony of Sattenapalli were poor, the TDP president demanded that the government pay Rs 5 lakh ex gratia to the kin of each of the deceased. Extending his heartfelt condolences to the families of the bereaved, he has urged the government to provide the best available treatment to the injured in the accident. (NSS)
