Hyderabad: The TDP Chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has urged the Election Commission to use high resolution CCTV cameras instead of webcams in the polling booths so that monitoring through internet would be effective.
In a letter to the EC on Friday, Mr Naidu has stated that the past record of Kadapa election shows that unfair practices using money and muscle power were likely to scare away voters and indulge in electoral malpractices. He has asked the EC to be vigilant against such malpractices.
Referring to the EC’s announcement that web-cast technology would be used in all the booths and videography would be undertaken in all the booths and CDS would be supplied to all parties on demand, he has requested the EC to arrange for supply of soft copy of voters lists, along with photos for their use to closely monitor the election process through internet and curb any malpractices like impersonations and booth capturing.
