New Delhi: The PRP chief Mr. Chiranjeevi has met the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in the central hall of the Parliament here on Tuesday. He has appealed to the PM to take an early decision on according national status to Pranahita-Chevella and Polavaram projects. He has also urged him not to impose any cuts in the subsidies given to the state.
The former film star has also met some DMK MPs in the central hall. He has reportedly discussed with them about his plans to campaign for the Congress, DMK’s ally in Tamilnadu.
Chiranjeevi has also met the Union Environment minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh.
Talking to the media later, he said the Prime Minister has positively responded to his demand on Pranahita and Polavaram projects. He said Dr. Singh has assured him that he would look into the matter and take an early decision on it.
Chiranjeevi said he has urged Mr. Jairam Ramesh to give early clearance to the Polavaram project. The minister has responded positively, he added. “He told me that he would call a meeting of the representatives of AP, Orissa and Karnataka to resolve the inter-state issues,” Chirajeevi told the media. He said he would fight for national status for Pranahita-Chevella project also which was in Telangana. (NSS)
