Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): The BJP Telangana Udyama Committee deputy chairman, Mr C Ashok Kumar Yadav, here on Monday lashed out at the former megastar-turned-politician, Mr K Chiranjeevi, for merging his Praja Rajyam party with the ruling Congress party for the sake of posts in the government.
Talking to mediapersons, Mr Yadav said that Mr Chiranjeevi, who floated Praja Rajyam party on the plank of social justice with much fanfare, soon fell into the Congress trap for the sake of political posts and personal benefits thereby cheating the people who had voted for his party with high hopes. He also charged Mr Chiranjeevi with polluting the State politics by embracing the Congress party. Mr Chiranjeevi, who had criticized the Congress party over corrupt practices of the State and Union governments during the elections and after licked his own spit by joining hands with the ruling party, he added.
Recalling that late Dr M Channa Reddy had similarly merged his Telangana Praja Samithi with the Congress for his selfish political ends, the BJP leader said that State politics would remain polluted as long as such selfish politicians existed in the society. He also appealed to the people of the State not to give importance to such narrow-minded politicians. (NSS)
