Citizens forum legal battle against corruption

Hyderabad: Citizens’ Forum Against Corruption has declared its intention to wage a legal war against corruption in Jalayagnam, Mines and lands allotments, SEZs after going through the issue thoroughly, and would also offer suggestions for strengthening the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and freeing it from shackles of Government.

Speaking to the media here today, Dr Rao Chelikani, chief Co-ordinator of the forum, extended full support to the fast undertaken by Gandhian Anna Hazare, and appealed to all peoples’ organizations to participate in the hunger strike being held by the Youth for Better India at Indira Park here on April 9.

He said the other co-ordinators of the Forum are Mr V KLakshmana Reddy of Jana Chaitnaya Vedika, Mr S Srinivasa Reddy, Director APSA, Mr M Padmanabha Reddy of Forum for Good Governance.

He deplored the State Government’s failure to appoint Commissioners for RTI and continuing the organisation only with one Chief Commissioner since the last six months. He also demanded the Government to appoint the Chairperson and Members of the State Women’s Commission. (NSS)
