CM congratulates IIT rankers of social welfare residential students

Hyderabad: The Chief Minister Mr.N.Kiran Kumar Reddy today congratulated the ten students of Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society’s Junior College, New Nagole Hyderabad, who secured Ranks in IIT/JEE.

These Students along with Minister for Social Welfare Sri Pithani satyanarayana, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Sri Raymond Peter, Secretary of the Society Ms. B.Udaya Lakshmi called on the Chief Minister at Secretariat. All the Students belong to ST and SC are from Rural background and from below poverty line families.

The Students are J.Mohan (Rank-452), P.Sravan Kumar (532), G.Balaraju (567), B.Prasad (573), G.Devendranath (639), G.Mallikharjuna (1037), Ch Ravikumar (1129), N.Ramu (1442), K.Nirmala (1606) and K Premchand (1612).

The Society has started the Institution by name APSWR (IIT-LTCD) Junior College, New Nagole, Hyderabad to coach the students for IIT/JEE and AIEEE along with the 2 year Intermediate course.

The Students are selected for admission on the basis of a written test. In April, 2011—75 students appeared for IIT/JEE and out of them 10 students got selected. In this college, all the Intermediate students were successful during March 2011 Intermediate public Examinations in1st class securing 750 or more marks out of 1000, said an official press release.
