CM extends Ramzan greetings to Muslims

Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy greeted the Muslim brethren on the occasion of the Holy Ramzan Month.

He participated in an Iftar Party hosted by former minister Mohammed Shabbir Ali at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Shabbir stated that the state government, under the leadership of Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, has been implementing several welfare and developmental measures for the minorities in the State, including extension of reservations in employment and education to minorities, (BC-E) for a further period of ten years.

An additional amount of Rs 57 lakh has been provided for Daarul Maarif institute in Osmania University. Besides this, a decision has been taken to provide additional diet charges to the minority college-managed hostellers, student-managed hostellers and day scholars on par with SC, ST, BC from 2011-12 academic year with an additional expenditure of Rs 19 crore per annum.

Construction of Haj House at Mamidipally in Shamshabad Airport with an outlay of Rs 12.5 crore with combined study circle has been sanctioned.

PCC president and Transport Minister B Satyanarayana, former PCC president D Srinivas, Ministers Mukesh Goud, Danam Nagender and several dignitaries participated.(INN)
