Hyderabad: The State government was re-thinking on conduct of elections to the urban bodies in view of uncertain political situation in the state.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, the Municipal Administration Minister, Mr M. Maheedhar Reddy, said the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, would soon hold a meeting to discuss how far it would be possible to conduct the elections in fluid political atmosphere. He made this announcement after attending the review meeting on Hyderabad development in the Chief Minister’s camp office at Begumpet.
According to sources, the Chief Minister was in favor of extending the term of special officers for another six months. The Minister for BC Welfare, Mr Basavaraju Saraiah, also met the Chief Minister in the camp office this morning and reportedly discussed the current political situation in the State.
