Hyderabad: The Telugu Nadu Students Federation, student wing of the TDP, has alleged that the Chief Minister Mr. N. Kirankumar Reddy had no concern about the plight of the BC students though several students were committing suicides because of non- reimbursement of their fee.

In a statement here on Friday, TNSF state General Secretary Mr. Venugopala Yadav and secretary Mr Kodali Ravi Kumar have said the CM was only showing step motherly love towards these poor and hapless students. They said the government which had not released funds for fee reimbursement has been scheming to evade it. Demanding that the government immediately gave up the proposal to abolish reimbursement, they warned that the TNSF would otherwise be constrained to take up a state wide agitation.

The student leaders said it was shameful on the part of the government which spent crores of rupees wastefully on the ‘Racha Banda’ programme was shirking its responsibility of reimbursing the fee of students and sanctioning their scholarships. They warned the government that it would have to taste the anger of the student community if it does away with fee reimbursement and scholarships. (NSS)
