Hyderabad: The Chief Minister Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that both the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force had always responded promptly to the call of the State Government for Rescue and Relief operations during the natural calamities.
The Chief Minister has inaugurated the Housing Project phase-3 of Air Force Naval Housing Board, here today at Lower Tank Bund Road.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister informed that the defence personnel have a special place in our Society since they spend most of their time in guarding the Nation. Therefore, the entire civil society has the responsibility to stand by them especially when they retire and look for their peaceful settlement in civil society, the Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister has expressed happiness over the activities of the Board which was established in 1979 to meet the housing needs for the serving and retired Air Force and Naval personnel and their widows, constructed purely on no loss and no profit basis.
The Chief Minister stated that the State Government has provided many concessions and benefits for the Project like exemption of VAT, Vacant land tax reduction, Stamp duty exemption to the tune of about Rs.2.5 crores. He has also assured to consider favourably the future Housing needs for the service personnel.
Union Minister of State for Defense Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju congratulated the service personnel for serving the needy with the housing projects.
Air Marshal J.N.Burma, Chairman of the Board, Admiral Ravi Gaikwad, Director of the Board and several dignitaries attended the meeting. (NSS)
