Hyderabad: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, today paid tributes to the departed MLC, Dr K. Rajyalakshmi.
The Chief Minister visited her residence at Srinagar Colony in Banjara Hills here and placed a wreath on the body of late Dr Rajyalakshmi. Mr Reddy consoled her husband, Dr Venkaiah, and other family members and conveyed his heartfelt condolences.
Speaking to mediapersons, the Chief Minister lauded the services of late Dr Rajyalakshmi in various fields. He recalled her services as an active MLC, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, president of the State Mahila Congress, Secretary of AP Red Cross Society, Director of Institute of Preventive Medicine, Professor of Osmania Medical College and so on. He said that she had done yeomen’s services to the society in general and women’s empowerment in particular. “In her death we lost a senior and able women’s social activist”, he added.
The State Congress president, Mr D Srinivas, today condoled the death of Dr K Rajyalakshmi, MLC, former president of State Mahila Congress and famous educationist. He also conveyed his sympathies to the members of the bereaved family. (NSS)
