Hyderabad: Alleging that a relative of Minister for Marketing Mukesh Goud was nominated for the Agriculture Market Committee Chairman’s post in violation of the seniority rules and bylaws, senior Congress leader Valle Narayana Reddy on Tuesday warned that he would go on a hunger fast at the Gandhi Bhavan unless this anomaly was rectified.
Mr Narayana Reddy appealed to party president Sonia Gandhi and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana to look into alleged injustice suffered by him in the appointment of one Rammohan Goud, a relative of Marketing Minister Mukesh Goud as Agriculture Market Committee (Hyderabad) Chairman.
In a statement, Mr Narayana Reddy alleged that Rammohan Goud, a relative of Minister for Marketing Mukesh Goud was nominated for the Chairman’s post in violation of the seniority rules and bylaws.
Mr Narayana Reddy stated that the new Chairman was appointed to the post without considering the local candidates and bypassing the seniority criteria.
Questioning the rationale behind the nomination of Mr Rammohan Goud as the Chairman of the AMC and the nomination of a vice-chairman who is not even a committee member to the post, the senior Congress leader found fault in appointments and alleged they were given to one particular section of the community.
He threatened to stage a hunger fast at Gandhi Bhavan if the party president does not take immediate steps to rectify this anomaly and do justice to him.
Mr Narayana Reddy further said the party should give posts to loyal workers considering their seniority.(INN)
