Hyderabad: Dubbing the Congress MLAs campaign in support of Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as ‘unethical’, the PCC official spokes persons Mr B Kamalakar Rao and Ms N Padmaja said that the Party would take action according to rules and also initiate action legally against them. They also demanded Mr Jagan to go to the polls announcing his party manifesto.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, the spokespersons said that Mr Jagan hatched a conspiracy against the Congress party and used Dr YSR schemes as party symbols. They pointed out that Mr Jagan cannot forget the fact that Dr YSR belongs to Congress party. Using Dr YSR’s schemes as party symbol was nothing but a bad practice, they said and added that the shop owner too would claim that the Rs.2 per kg rise scheme belongs to him because he was distributing the stocks.

They said that Mr Jagan has yet to announce his party manifesto and it was not correct for him to campaign Congress party schemes as his own. Mr Kamalakar Rao made it clear that the party would use Dr YSR photo in the ensuing by-elections in Kadapa district because Dr YSR continued in the Congress party till his last breath.

They alleged that the loyalists of Mr Jagan, like Mr Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, Mr Ambati Rambabu and Mr Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, who were not in a position to win councilor seat, were inciting Mr Jagan to speak against the Congress party. The people would decide the fate of Mr Jagan, but Dr YSR belongs to Congress party only, they said and added that some of the small time leaders were speaking as they want against the PCC president Mr D Srinivas when he said that the soul of Dr YSR would support the Congress.

Finding fault with the TDP Chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu’s criticism against the Congress party on Tuesday saying that the Congress and Mr Jagan party entered into match fixing, the official spokespersons asked the former as to how it was possible when Mr Jagan himself had left the Congress. It was also not correct for Mr Chandrababu to blame the Congress party on power tariff hike, he said and pointed out that Mr Chandrababu should not forget the fact of resorting to firing at Basheerbagh against the agitators protesting on ‘power tariff hike ’ issue. They also alleged that Mr Chandrababu did nothing to the State regarding ‘gas’, more so he bestowed the State’s gas to the Reliance and Gujarat State Oil Company. They said that the Congress government participated in the gas tenders at Odisha and Goa and got a place in short list of Odisha government. (NSS)
