New Delhi: The CPI(M) State secretary, Mr B V Raghavulu, has said that the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh has reached a decadent stage.

Talking to the media here on Monday, Mr Raghavulu said that the recent Kadapa by-elections have reminded of general elections. He predicted that results of the by-elections would have serious effect on the State politics.

Replying a question, he said his party would support the ‘Rythu Diksha’ (fast for the farmers) of Mr. Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He has clarified that his party would support any one fighting for the farmers.

On the Telangana issue, the CPI-M leader said that it was because of the inefficiency of the Congress party the problem continued to prevail. He said that his party’s politburo has discussed the results of five States as well as the Kadapa by-elections. He expressed serious resentment over hike in the price of petroleum products soon after results for the five States were out. (NSS)
