Hyderabad: The Congress rebel candidate from East Godavari district, Mr Chittabathula Kumar Raja, has announced that he was withdrawing his candidature from the Legislative Council elections. The official candidate of the Congress party from the East Godavari was Mr Gidugu Rudraraju.
Mr Kumar Raja, who met the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, along with the Minister of State for Defence, Mr M M Pallam Raju, the former minister, Mr Sangeetha Venkat Reddy, the PCC secretary, Mr K V Sathyanarayana Reddy and others, announced that he was withdrawing his candidature from the Council elections. He said that the Chief Minister has assured him that the seniors will be given top priority in party positions and in nominated posts. He also announced that he would work for the victory of the official candidate.
Mr Kumar Raja said that he met the Chief Minister on the advice of MP, Mr G V Harsha Kumar, along with the PCC secretaries Mr Dokkala Murali, Mr Pantham Nanaji, District Sarpanchs’ Association president, Mr Juvvadi Bujji, National Coir Development Board member, Mr P Jaggaparaju and senior leader, Mr Katta Suryanarayana.
