Hyderabad: The Telangana Telugu Desam party senior leaders, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Mr Mothkupalli Narasimhulu and Mr Venugopalachary, have warned that the Congress party will have “dark nights” in the region if it failed to concede separate Telangana State.
Reacting to the remarks of the Union Home Minister, Mr P Chidambaram, that the Telangana issue cannot be solved overnight, the Telangana TDP leaders pointed out that already 460 nights were over after Mr Chidambaram declared process for Telangana State formation on December 9, 2009. They asked the Union Home Minister as how many more nights he wanted to solve the 56 years old issue.
Pointing out that 620 people were killed in the Telangana agitation, the TDP leaders said that the Congress party was alone responsible for the pathetic situation. They also disclosed that the Telangana TDP legislators would boycott the Assembly session from Thursday in solidarity with the non-cooperation movement of the Telangana employees. They said that they would tour the region and explain to the people about the inevitable necessity for separate State.
They also questioned the Congress leader, Mr J C Diwakar Reddy, for seeking United Andhra Pradesh without the support of the people of Telangana. However, the Telangana TDP leaders would have no objection if the leaders of the Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra wanted Samaikyandhra. (NSS)
