Hyderabad, Feb.18 (NSS): The Legislative Council on Friday condemned the unruly incidents that occurred in the Assembly on Thursday and the attempts of some members to obstruct the Governor’s address to the joint session of the Legislature.
The Council also condemned the attack on its member, Mr Paladugu Venkata Rao, and the Lok Satta Party MLA, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, on the Assembly premises.
Narrating the Thursday’s incidents in the Council on Friday, Mr Paladugu Venkata Rao said that the Telangana TDP MLAs had first attacked them and TRS MLAs followed suit. He complained that the TRS MLAs, Mr T. Harish Rao and Mr K Taraka Rama Rao abused Dr Jayaprakash Narayan in foul language and threatened to kill him. He said that he was an eye-witness to the incident. He also declared that he would boycott the House from now if the members, who had insulted the Governor, were seen in the House. He also said that those advocating separate Telangana State should resolve it peacefully in New Delhi. He has suggested that hard decisions were inevitable some times.
The Council, while condemning the happenings in the Assembly said it was painful that such incidents had occurred and appealed that such incidents should not recur.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against Mallesh, driver of the TRS MLA, Mr Eetela Rajender for attacking Dr Jayaprakash Narayan and Mr Paladugu Venkata Rao. (NSS)
