In order to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the holy month of Ramzan, the Central Power Distribution Company of AP Limited (CPDCL) has initiated several steps.
The discom has set up additional transformers, augmented the capacity of the existing transformers, and arranged standby mobile generators besides setting up special control rooms to provide uninterrupted power supply at mosques and Idgahs. Maintenance works of various lines and low tension cable works, where interruptions were reported earlier, have been completed on an emergency basis, CPDCL stated in a press release on Monday.
Mobile distribution transformers have been arranged to meet the power demand at Mecca Masjid, Charminar area including Osmania Bazar, RJ Market, BG Market, Bhagya Laxmi Complex, Balala Estate, Pathergatti, Ainagalli, Pitty Dresses, Masqati Gulashan, Manjili Begum Haveli, Motigalli and Edgah Miralam. Additional staff too has been deployed to attend to complaints in the area.
In Hyderabad central circle area, 100 KVA transformers have been upgraded to 160 KVA capacity. Additional 100 KVA distribution transformers are arranged in Vijayanagar Colony, Asifnagar, Shaikpet, Golconda, Langer House, Mehdipatnam and Rethi Bowli.
A round-the-clock control room with telephone numbers 23433282 and 9490619798 has been set up at the Charminar CBD office for receiving complaints. Senior officers will be on special duty during peak hours for the entire month of Ramzan, the release said. As part of these measures, CPDCL has deployed assistant engineer (operations) Khaja Jamal Shareef on special duty at Macca Masjid to co-ordinate with CBD and the operation staff during the entire period.
