Hyderabad: Referring to the announcement made by the Chief Minister Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy on the floor of the Legislative Assembly that the land allocations would be reviewed, the CPI State Secretary Dr K Narayana has pointed out that the Government’s assurance to constitute a house committee on land allocations was also not materialized yet.

Speaking to the media here today, he said the private firms were getting more than the required lands for industrial purpose, and making real estate business with the excess land. The CPI would pitch red flags in the lands which were allocated for SEZs but not utilized for the purpose, if the government failed to setup house panel in two months’ time. The future course of action on land allocations to SEZs would be chalked out at the conference of left parties to be held on April 17, he informed.

“The non-passage of tenant farmers bill in the budget session of the Assembly is indicating the lack of sincerity of the Government in protecting the rights of tenant farmers. The Government has taken care for passage of bills that it wanted, even though there was disturbance in the house”, he said.

The Communist leader made it clear that he would accept the remarks made by social activist Anna Hazare praising Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. He, however, wondered as to why Hazare did not keep in mind the government massacre of minorities in that state. It was not an ignorable aspect. The CPI would also take up anti-corruption awareness campaign in the State to educate the people, he added.(NSS)
