Hyderabad: Demanding the Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy to initiate steps to solve the problems of the Daliths and Girijans, the CPM addressed a letter to the former here on Wednesday. The CPM warned the Chief Minister that their leaders would go on fast unto death from March 17, demanding him to solve the problems of the poor.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Wednesday along with the party leaders Mr P Madhu, MLC Cherupally Seetharamulu and MLA Mr Julakanti Ranga Reddy, former MLA Mr Paturu Ramaiah has said that the government was not spending the funds allocated in the Budget, on the programmes and schemes meant for uplift of the poor, and it was transferring the same to other schemes. He said that many political parties and peoples’ organizations have been repeatedly representing to the Government and carrying on agitations demanding solution to the problems of the poor; but the Government has not attended to any of the problems of the people.
He said that the party was left with no alternative than to take up agitation on the peoples’ problems. The State CPM secretary Mr BV Raghavulu, State executive members Mr G Nagaiah, Mr S Veeraiah and State Committee member Dr M Baburao would sit on fast from March 17 at Indira Park, he added. (NSS)
