CPI plans “Prajaporu Yatras” from tomorrow

Hyderabad: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has decided to organize “Prajaporu Yatra” across the State from June 4 to 15.to create awareness on mining and land scams.

Releasing posters and pamphlets relating to Jathas and meetings here today, the CPI State secretary, Dr K. Narayana, said that first leg of Jatha will be held on June 4 at Komuram Bheem statue at Jode Ghat in Adilabad district. The Jatha will pass through Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak and Ranga Reddy and finally reaches Hyderabad on June 15, he added.

Dr Narayana said that he would inaugurate the second leg of Jatha on June 5 at Giri Prasad statue at Bhadrachalam of Khammam district. He said that about seven Jathas would start from Adilabad, Khammam, Srikakulam and Kadapa. He said that they would organize concluding meetings at Anantapur on June 11, Vijayawada on June 12 and State level meeting at Hyderabad on June 15, he added. The CPI national general secretary, Mr A.B. Bardan and deputy general secretary, Mr Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy will attend the meeting at Nizam College grounds at 4 pm.

Referring to Telangana issue, the CPI leader has demanded that the Centre and Congress party should declare their stand on separate Telangana issue. He accused the Union government of trying to delay Telangana State formation by raising the talk of Second States Re-organisation Commission (SRC). He also wanted the Central government to accord national status to Pranahita- Chevella Project. He alleged that the Ministers from the State were not sincerely working for welfare of farmers. He demanded that the State government not to decrease BC reservations in the Local body elections.
