Hyderabad: Annoyed over the State government’s inaction in connection with the alleged irregularities in the EMMAR Properties issue, the State Council of the Communist Party of India has declared that it would lay a siege to the lands possessed by the EMMAR Properties at Manikonda village in Nanakramguda, here on March 28.

Announcing this to mediapersons at the State CPI office here on Monday, a member on the State executive committee and a former MLA, Mr K Rama Krishna expressed their concern at the State government’s attitude in not taking any action in the case of the EMMAR Properties issue.

Mr Rama Krishna said that about 535 acres of land was allotted to the EMMAR Properties of which, 235 acres was meant for Golf court and another 285 acres for multipurpose use, while another 15 aces was a water storage land in the form of lake. “The APIIC had forcibly acquired about 90 acres of land from the farmers and deposited money in banks against their will. On the other hand, it restored the land falling under the same survey number to the Amararaja Batteries and the Tollywood actor Mr Gattamaneni Krishna, three acres to the former and 13 acres to the latter. Now both of them have built gigantic corporate offices there”, he alleged. (NSS)
