Hyderabad: The CPI has demanded that the government release Rs 500 crores immediately to solve the problems of the handloom weavers. He also demanded the government to cancel permissions to power-looms to safeguard the interests of the handloom weavers.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Monday, the CPI deputy floor leader, Mr K Sambasiva Rao, demanded that the government convene all-party meeting to solve the problems of the handloom weavers. He also demanded that the government find an alternative solution to save the handloom weavers.
Referring to the SC categorization issue, Mr Sambasiva Rao demanded the Chief Minister lead an all-party delegation to Delhi to solve the issue. He also alleged that the government was not sincere in solving the SC categorization and was trying to benefit from the differences between SC sub-castes.
Demanding that the government own moral responsibility on Telangana issue, the CPI deputy floor leader said that it was not proper to the Centre to adopt delay tactics further and playing games with the lives of the Telangana people. (NSS)
