Hyderabad: The CPI(M) has demanded that the Union government take an early decision on the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee report on the Telangana issue.
Talking to the media here on Sunday, the party secretary, Mr Prakash Karat, has said that it was the duty of the Central government to take an early decision on the matter and remove the uncertainty prevailing in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Karat has said that his party stuck to its stand of supporting linguistic States and was opposed to the bifurcation of the State. The party’s stand on the issue had always been the same and there was no change in it, he added. On the other hand, the Congress party had failed to clearly state what its stand on the issue was and demanded a clear spell out of the ruling party’s stand on the issue. (NSS)
