Hyderabad: Leaders of several Dalit associations have demanded that the State government order an inquiry by the CB-CID into the alleged irregularities and corruption activities of the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Mr M. Maheedhar Reddy, in Kandukuru Assembly constituency of Prakasam district.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, the Maha Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi founder-president, Mr Sunkapaka Devaiah Madiga, demanded that the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, immediately sack the minister for his anti-Dalit and corrupt activities by misusing his official position. Enumerating several illegal activities of Mr Mahidhar Reddy, Mr Devaiah Madiga demanded that the government file cases under SC and ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act against minister and arrest him for terrorizing the poor Dalits. He said that the minister has no moral right to continue in the cabinet as he was mentally and physically torturing Dalits by illegally occupying their lands and felling their huts. He also alleged that Mr Maheedhar Reddy was trying to get the APCC SC Department Coordinator, Mr Tatiparthy John Prakash, physically eliminated.
The Dalit Bahujana Party founder-president, Mr V. Krishna Swaroop, alleged that Mr Maheedhar Reddy appealed to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and DGP to provide security to the Dalits from Mr Maheedhar Reddy. He also demanded that the State government order arrest of the Ongole police sub-inspector Bheem Naik for filing illegal cases against Mr John Prakash.
Mr John Prakash alleged that the Minister was trying to physically eliminate him in a fake encounter by the police. Stating that he filed a Writ Petition No 14474/2011 in the High court seeking police protection from Mr Maheedhar Reddy, he said the High Court has issued notices to the Minister, the Chief Secretary, the DGP and the Prakasam district Collector. The case was posted to June 13, he added.
Mr Devaiah Madiga has demanded that the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, and the PCC chief, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana, to unconditionally tender apologies to Mr Johan Prakash as the Municipal Administration Minister was insulting and terrorizing Dalits in his constituency.
The Ambedkar Yuvajana Sangham All India Co-ordinator, Mr V.L. Raju, was also present.
