Hyderabad: Accusing the Congress party of being against the ‘Dalit Christians’, Indian Dalitha Christian Rights-AP (IDCR-AP) has decided to organize ‘awareness seminars’ from July 20, and also given a call to Dalit Christians to be ready for agitations across the nation.

In a press note, IDCR-AP president Mr Perika Varaprasada Rao has demanded the Centre to recognize the Dalit Christians as SCs immediately and provide freedom of religion to them. He warned the Congress party that the party will face defeat in 2014 if it failed to concede their demands.

He said that the late Chief Minister Dr YSR has sent the unanimous resolution passed by the State Assembly to the Centre, but it was pending since then. Mr Prasada Rao demanded the State MPs and Union Ministers from State to pressurize the Centre to introduce the bill on it in the ensuing monsoon Parliament session.
