Hyderabad: The senior Telangana Congress leader and former minister, Mr R. Damodar Reddy, on Saturday demanded that the well-known educationist and MLC, Mr Chukka Ramaiah, be appointed as Telangana Political JAC chairman.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Damodar Reddy alleged that the present TJAC was working at the behest of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao. Asking why the Congress leaders of the Telangana region should work under the supervision of Prof. Kodandaram, who was under the clutches of the TRS, Mr Damodar Reddy said the Telangana Congress leaders would wholeheartedly cooperate with the TJAC if Mr Chukka Ramaiah was appointed chairman in place of the present incumbent.

Meanwhile, Mr Chukka Ramaiah submitted his resignation to the MLC post on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chukka Ramaiah said that he would follow the footsteps of other Telangana protagonists for the cause of separate State.
