Labour Minister Danam Nagender has lambasted Union minister Kishore Chandra Deo for writing to Congress president Sonia Gandhi belittling Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana.
Talking to the media here on Wednesday, Danam sarcastically said that everyone in the Congress was vying to become either the Chief Minister or the PCC chief before the next elections. He said it that would be better if they remembered that the two posts carry crowns of thorns with them.
He said that some leaders do not even know where Gandhi Bhavan (State Congress headquarters) was and staff and other leaders at Gandhi Bhavan also would not recognize leaders like Kishore Chandra Deo. He said it was surprising that such people were criticizing Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botcha Satyanarayana. He has questioned the Union minister to state who would hold responsibility if the Congress was defeated in the next general elections.
Danam has advised the Union minister that it was improper on his part to make such comments when the party was passing through a difficult phase. He said that leaders like Kishore Chandra Deo confine themselves to Delhi and had no concern for the local people. Stating that it was wrong to mislead the party leadership for selfish ends, Danam said 90 per cent of Congress did not know where Gandhi Bhavan was. (NSS)
