Hyderabad: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday assured Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that the demand of deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders of 1975 would be discussed in Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs meeting, scheduled for later in the evening.
Dr Manmohan Singh further said that a decision on the controversial clause would be taken after the discussion.
The Prime Minister gave this assurance to Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy when the latter telephoned him on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister over the need to deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders of 1975.
According to sources, even if the Prime Minister sends the file to President’s Office for the deletion, Ms Pratibha Patil will need time to decide on the issue.
Informed sources say that the President may consult Constitutional experts over the issue before giving her assent.(INN)
