Hyderabad: Reacting to the MLC local bodies’ election results, the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Wednesday admitted that his party could not fare well as expected because money played a key role.
Talking to the media after announcement of election results, Mr Reddy said that he had already aired his views that the policy of MLC elections should be changed. Stating that they were confident of winning six seats, the Chief Minister said three sitting members were defeated and the mistakes will be discovered only after studying the matter in detail. He strongly felt that the party faced the defeat due to lapses in the party.
The Chief Minister said that the entire Congress leadership was collectively responsible for the defeat of the party. Action would be taken against those, who worked against the party nominees, he added.
However, the Chief Minister, refused to comment about the former minister Mr. J C Diwakar Reddy. He said that he would get reports from the districts and analyze them to understand the causes for Congress party’s defeat. When asked persistently about Mr J C and Mr Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, he said the party high command would take care of them. (NSS)
