Dr Avinash gets Indira Gandhi award

Hyderabad: The senior cardiac surgeon, Dr Avinash Dal of Apollo Health City has been awarded the Indira Priyadarshini Award for Excellence in Medicine.

The award from the All India National Unity Conference was presented to Dr Avinash by the former governor of Assam and Tamil Nadu, Mr Bhishma Narain Singh, and the Chairman of the Press Council of India, Mr Justice G N Ray in New Delhi on Saturday.

Dr Avinash, MS, MCh, has over 17 years of experience in cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery. Practising since 1995, he has conducted over 7,000 operations, including bypass and open heart surgeries. He has presented many research papers at the national and international level.

Dr Avinash is well-known for his contribution to the Rajiv Gandhi Arogyashree scheme of the State government. He has conducted many free camps for heart patients in cities across the country. (NSS)
