Hyderabad: Bringing several departments under Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) has caused deadlock in the talks between the employees JAC and the Cabinet sub-committee, which was dealing with the employees’ issues.
The State government has already issued GOs banning strike in APTransco, Genco and Singareni Collieries. It also brought the Pay and Accounts and Treasury departments under ESMA.
The Telangana employees unions of teachers, lecturers, doctors and NGOs had served strike notices on the State government for the cause Telangana. The administration in the State was almost paralyzed after the resignation of ministers from the Telangana region.
The employees JAC was up in arms on the government’s move to impose ESMA on the employees who will participate in the strike. It seemed to be firm on its decision to go on strike from August 18 and launch various forms of protests from August 7.
Undoubtedly, the government has no courage to take action against the leaders of employees’ union at this juncture. If the government dares to takes any such step, it would be suicidal for the Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
