Hyderabad: The CCS police have arrested a self-styled IAS officer working as OSD to Prime Minister, one Ms Suman Singh, 50, wife of Jagmohan Singh, residing at Flat No. 308, III floor, Al Amra Apartment, Asifnagar.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, Suman Singh was a resident of Rameshnagar in New Delhi and posed as IAS officer working as OSD to Prime Minister and was collecting money from the general public by luring them that she would complete their pending work by using her influence as IAS officer.

According to the complainant, one Mohd Khaleel, Suman Singh approached him and told that she was working as OSD to Prime Minister and offered to settle his land dispute with the owner by using her influence as IAS officer. She also demanded Rs 10 lakhs for completing the work. Based on the complaint, a case in Cr. No. 302/2009 under Sections 419, 420 IPC was registered at CCS, DD, Hyderabad.

Investigation revealed that Suman Singh, who was posing as OSD to Prime Minister, used to obtain flag cars from some IAS officers and get some works done through them. She had even attended some programmes as chief guest in her capacity as OSD to Prime Minister. However, she was absconding after a case was registered, the DCP added.

The DCP has advised the people not to fall a prey to the fake IAS and IPS officers and contact the offices concerned to verify whether the individual was really working at that place or not. He also clarified that none of the officers would demand money to solve such problems which are basically civil in nature.

The case is being investigated by Mr V. Narasimha Reddy, Inspector of Police, WCO Team II, CCS, DD, Hyderabad under the supervision of Mr Ganesh Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, CCS, DD, Hyderabad. (NSS)
